Nutritionist — Help Shape a Healthier Future for Baytown

Full-Time | Harris County – Baytown Area

Bring your knowledge, compassion, and commitment to a role where every conversation can change a life. Openwork is partnering with Harris County to welcome a skilled Nutritionist who will support families, improve community well-being, and play a vital role in public health across Baytown.

The Heart of the Role:

This position goes far beyond nutritional guidance—it’s about advocacy, empowerment, and education. You’ll be a source of clarity for parents, a guide for growing children, and a trusted resource for families navigating important health decisions. Key Responsibilities:

  • Build trust through meaningful client interactions grounded in respect and cultural awareness.
  • Review eligibility based on residency, income, and health requirements.
  • Lead engaging individual and group counseling with clear, actionable guidance.
  • Recommend tailored food packages and specialized formulas when needed
  • Track client progress using growth charts, anthropometric measurements, and iron assessments.
  • Maintain detailed, compliant documentation for all client encounters
  • Support quality assurance and compliance initiatives across the program
  • Participate in community outreach to broaden program awareness and engagement
  • Collaborate with clerks, lactation consultants, and healthcare partners to ensure smooth service delivery
  • Advocate for nutrition access and equity for every family served

What You’ll Need:

  • Bachelor's degree in Nutrition, Dietetics, or a related field
  • 24+ credit hours of Food & Nutrition coursework
  • Excellent communication skills with a patient, supportive approach
  • Strong organization and attention to detail
  • Ability to remain flexible and calm in a fast-moving environment
  • Commitment to serving diverse populations with empathy and professionalism
  • Ability to perform light physical tasks (bending, lifting, sitting for periods of time)
  • A passion for community wellness and a desire to make a daily impact

Schedule & Compensation:

Mon–Thu: 8:00 AM–5:30 PM
Fri: 8:00 AM–12:00 PM
3rd Saturday Monthly: 8:00 AM–12:00 PM

Pay: $26 - 30/hour (Based on experience) — Weekly Pay
