POSITION SUMMARY: Under general supervision from the Dental Director, the Dental Administrative Assistant purpose is to provide administrative support to the Dental Director and the greater Dental Department with recurring tasks and special projects. A successful incumbent will have the ability to learn and apply knowledge gained of the Dental Industry in supporting the Dental Director with escalating issues, managing calendars, managing coverage for providers on PTO, attending meetings and compiling meeting minutes for Dental Director review

Required Experience

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS The following knowledge, skills, and abilities are required for an employee to successfully perform their duties.

  • High school diploma and or GED.
  • Two (2) years of experience in health care-related field; with one (1) year dental industry experience.
  • Able to work collaboratively with multiple health professionals in a busy and complex environment using tact, and diplomacy.
  • Ability to operate with proficiency, the computer packages in use at NVIH.
  • Commitment to excellence, high standards, and strong interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, strong organizational problem-solving and analytical skills; ability to speak publicly.
  • Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm as an innovative team player.
  • Ability to understand and adhere to established policies, procedures, protocols, and the ability to make timely and sound decisions.
  • Strong organizational problem-solving and analytical skills with acute attention to detail and ability to multi-task.
  • Reliable transportation and ability to travel to various NVIH locations as needed.
