Are you looking for an impactful volunteer opportunity that will help save the lives of shelter pets?

Best Friends Animal Society is on a mission to end the killing of cats and dogs in America's shelters by 2025. In support of our mission, Best Friends is looking for volunteers to help four targeted rural shelters

• Williamsburg County Animal Care and Control, Kingstree, SC
• Culpepper County Animal Control, Culpepper, VA
• Eastern Shore Regional Animal Control, Melfa, VA
• Stafford County Animal Control, Stafford, VA
  
  

These rural shelters are doing great work, they have great animals and great staff. However, the shelters often don't have enough staff, so they could use help marketing their pets and raising awareness about the shelter in their community.

To assist these rural shelters, Best Friends is looking for the following volunteers (click the link for more details)

Shelter Marketing Assistant this role will require the volunteer to work on-site at the assigned shelter; there may be remote work as well. The Shelter Marketing Assistant will be responsible for working with the shelter staff and Volunteer Marketing Specialist to develop and schedule engaging content for social media platforms, focusing on storytelling, animal features, and community engagement.

Volunteer Marketing Specialist If you’re not able to volunteer in person, this role is a virtual role for a marketing professional skilled in executing strategic marketing initiatives. The Shelter Marketing Specialist will be responsible for the planning, development, and execution of online marketing, promotions and social media in support of the targeted shelters. The Volunteer Marketing Specialist will also provide virtual support to the Shelter Marketing Assistant volunteers working directly with the targeted shelters.
