Talent Acquisition Specialist Houston, TX 77042

Contract Type: Contract to hire possible
Work Schedule: 9 Hours Monday - Thursday / 4 Hours Friday (Subject to Change)
Work Arrangement: Hybrid possible
Position Summary: The primary functions of this position are to assist with the daily administrative, operations, and staffing needs of the employment office. This position will also support the recruiting team by proactively sourcing talent and building relationships. They will partner with Talent Acquisition Recruiters to assist with developing strategies to support the team’s current and upcoming needs. The candidate must be able to deliver a high level of customer service to both internal customers (Operational Managers, Employment Managers, Co-workers and Peers) and external customers (Job Seekers; Applicants; Project/Site Owner Personnel).
Position Responsibilities: - May assist Employment Manager and recruiters with Staffing Plan Processes (Forecasting; Sourcing; Requisitions; Recruiting; Hiring; Retention and Redeployment)
- Review applications, work history, employee status ratings
- Ensure new hires complete all onboarding tasks from offer accepted to first day with a high degree of customer service (update requisitions, enter and track background checks and drug screens, maintain I9 compliance and E-Verify compliance, etc.)
- May be asked to track and report data on staffing plan processes
- Perform administrative duties including data entry, answering phones, taking messages, filing, etc.
- Develop detailed job descriptions, screening questions, and tool lists specific to positions based on scope of work to be performed
- Source candidates from multiple internal and external pools
- Screen candidates to ensure qualification for positions to be filled
- Maintain candidate pools by departments and geographic region
- Recruit and assist hiring managers with offers of employment to qualified candidates in a fast-paced environment
- Schedule individuals for processing and orientation
- Update Applicant Tracking System in real time with candidate information and interactions
- Attend job fairs and other industry events
- Other duties as assigned
- Level I Specialist will typically assist with sourcing
Essential Skills, Knowledge, Abilities and Experience: - Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Detail-oriented
- Flexible and able to deal with changing priorities
- Ability to multitask concurrent tasks
- Meet deadlines under time constraints
- Strong computer skills and demonstrated ability with Microsoft Office
- High School diploma or equivalent and 3+ years of customer service or HR administrative experience
Preferred Qualifications: - Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
- PHR or SHRM-CP certification
- Knowledge of employment laws/compliance
- Experience in: Administration, Customer Service, Human Resources, Industrial Construction and/or Nuclear Industries
