Job Description:

Our client is seeking a Senior Staff Accountant to join their accounting team. In this direct-hire role, you will oversee key accounting functions for the organization, including account reconciliations, balance sheet management, and tax compliance. This position offers the opportunity to work within a dynamic team environment and contribute to a growing company.

Key Responsibilities:

• Ensure accuracy in tax reporting and the preparation of sales tax, use tax, and property taxes.
• Assist with corporate record preparation and external tax reporting.
• Research and resolve tax compliance issues.
• Stay current with updates to tax codes and accounting laws.
• Manage reporting deadlines and ensure timely financial submissions.
• Prepare and maintain paperwork related to business licenses and submit 1099 forms annually.
• File annual reports and maintain communication with local municipalities.
• Support month-end closing procedures, including payroll, cash management, and prepaid expenses.
• Reconcile general ledger accounts and maintain bank reconciliations.
• Collaborate with the Financial Services team to resolve any discrepancies.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Controller.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting, specifically with tax reporting, account reconciliations, and balance sheet management.
• Experience with tax law, audits, and accounting methods.
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software.
• Proven ability to research tax compliance issues and stay up to date with changes in accounting regulations.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred.
• Prior experience working with eCommerce taxation is advantageous.
