Nephrologist (Cambridge Public Health Commission d/b/a Cambridge Health Alliance; Everett, MA): Specific responsibilities of the Nephrologist include: Attending to patients during regular appointments and/or during periods of hospitalization; Sharing on-call duties for nights, weekends, and holidays consistent with Department policies; Keeping and maintaining (or causes to be kept and maintained) appropriate records relating to all professional services rendered by Physician; Preparing all billings, reports, claims, and correspondence in connection with such services, in the form and manner required by Employer as necessary or appropriate under the circumstances; Providing inpatient and emergency department consultations as requested; Providing ten (10) sessions per week over five (5) weekdays, eight (8) of which are for clinical sessions, and inpatient & emergent consultations. The remaining two (2) sessions are for medical record (EPIC) documentation, responding to patient inquiries, my chart correspondence, availability for onsite inpatient and emergent consultations, preparation of teaching materials, etc. Ambulatory clinical sessions are defined as four (4) hours of time to treat patients; Teaching medical students and residents in a primarily clinical setting, but occasionally classroom as well, at the Cambridge Health Alliance; Performing all other duties as assigned by the Division Chief and/or Department Chief; Developing Nephrology Curriculum for the Department of Medicine for CHA and Harvard Medical School and Tufts University School of Medicine; Acting as an advisor for undergraduate medical education including providing classroom lectures and conferences, supervising clinical training, and serving as a preceptor as needed; Acting as an advisor for graduate medical education including providing classroom-based lectures and attending conferences, supervising clinical training, serving as a preceptor, and participating in recruitment efforts; Serving as an occasional guest lecturer for courses at affiliated universities; Providing mentorship and guidance to medical students and residents working in the Department of Medicine; Working collaboratively and respectfully with all staff, peers and departments at CHA to maintain a high level of care for all patients; Serving on departmental committees as delegated by the Department Chief or designee or on CHA and/or Employer committees at the discretion of Employer; Encouraging to serve on community boards and to promote public health initiatives in the community; Actively participating in quality assurance/quality improvement activities at CHA; in peer review activities; in pay-for-performance initiatives, electronic medical records initiatives and other similar initiatives of Employer or the Health Plans; and Performing all other reasonable duties assigned by the Program Director and/ or the Department Chief.
CHA is a teaching hospital and therefore it is expected that all physicians will participate in the professional development and medical training of students and residents. This role includes teaching the resident team clinical medicine while providing clinical care, with about 2-5% of the time spent on teaching responsibilities.

Minimum Requirements: Doctor of Medicine degree or its equivalent plus completion of a 3-year medical residency program in internal medicine.
Must have: Board Certification in Nephrology. License to practice medicine in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts
