Maintenance Building and Grounds

Job Summary:

Under the direction of the Building and Grounds Director, the Maintenance Building and Grounds is responsible for maintaining school facilities and grounds to ensure they remain safe, clean, and in optimal operating condition for continual educational use.

Qualifications:

Required:

• Must possess knowledge of electrical, plumbing, construction, carpentry, pumps, and grounds operations
• Ability to perform mechanical repairs, working knowledge of AHU’s, RTU’s and Uninvents
• Demonstrated successful written and communication skills

Desired Characteristics:

• Minimum of two years experience in related field
• Certificates and licenses in electrical and plumbing skilled trades
• Experience working in an educational environment
• Experience in electrical, plumbing and heating
• Knowledge of carpentry and care of school buildings and grounds
• Ability to lift and carry heavy equipment

Duties:

• Responsible for mowing of grounds/athletic fields and clearing debris from curbs and gutters
• Responsible for snow plowing parking lots and clearing snow from walkways
• Preventive maintenance for district facilities
• May need to deal with emergency repair problems with efficiency and may require 24 hour on call responsibilities
• Perform all mechanical, plumbing, heating and carpentry
• Ability to plan and organize; good work habits
• Perform other duties as assigned by administration
