Full-Time Position Open: APPLY TODAY! POSITION SUMMARY:
The Laundry Aide provides a variety of laundry duties in maintaining the nursing facility in an orderly, sanitary condition and in collecting and laundering of linens, garments, and washables.
SPECIFIC EDUCATION/VOCATIONAL REQUIERMENTS:
- High school degree or equivalent is preferred.
- This position requires that the employee is able to read, write, speak and understand the spoken English language to ensure the safety and wellbeing of our patients and visitors at the work site when responding to their medical and physical needs.
- Must provide verification of TST (tuberculin skin test) as required by state law and in accordance with Company policy. TSTs will be administered at the work site if required.
JOB SKILLS:
- Good physical condition.
- Working knowledge of standard materials, techniques and equipment used in laundry activities.
- Knowledge of cleaning materials and reasons for their use.
- Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
- Ability to positively interact with personnel, customers, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel and the general public.
- Provide annual verification of negative TB skin test.
PERFORMS RELATED DUTIES:
- Interacts with customers, families, visitors, facility and Reliant subsidiary personnel;
- Carries out other tasks as requested in situations where hands-on intervention/participation may be required.
RESPONSIBILITIES/ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Assists in transporting laundry containers of soiled linen and clean linen carts;
- Operates commercial and residential washing machines and dryers;
- Loads soiled linen into washers and loads clean, wet linens into dryers;
- Proceeds to fold clean, dry linen and place into clean carts;
- Keeps accurate records of linen inventory;
- Washes, dries, folds and distributes customer clothing;
- Maintains equipment and the laundry areas, cleans and keeps areas in a neat, orderly and safe manner;
- Follows all policies and procedures of the nursing facility;
- Checks stock and notifies supervisor of supply needs;
- Delivers laundry as specified;
- Puts Customer Service First: Ensures that customers and families receive the highest quality of service in a caring and compassionate atmosphere which recognizes the individuals’ needs and rights;
- Performs other duties as requested.
