We are so glad you are interested in joining Sutter Health! **Organization:** SMCS-Sutter Med Center - Sacramento **Position Overview:** Responsible for the overall coordination, planning and management of patient and family education related to breastfeeding. Is accountable for providing lactation consultation and education services. Provides breastfeeding assistance, support and education to patients. Performs hands on lactation consultation services on an outpatient basis. Evaluates specific lactation problems and develops a management and follow-up plan of care when indicated. **Job Description** : This is a non-RN position **EDUCATION:** + HS Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED) **CERTIFICATION & LICENSURE:** + IBLCE-Certified Lactation Consultant (certification may be required by entity and time to acquire dependent on qualifications for exam) + BLS-Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider **TYPICAL EXPERIENCE:** + 2 years recent relevant experience **SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:** + Maternal-infant assessment skills. + Organizational skills with ability to prioritize, problem solve and meet deadlines. + Interpersonal and customer service skills. + Ability to manage own time and schedule own tasks. + Written and verbal communication and problem solving skills. **Job Shift:** Days **Schedule:** Per Diem/Casual **Shift Hours:** 8 **Days of the Week:** Monday - Friday **Weekend Requirements:** None **Benefits:** No **Unions:** No **Position Status:** Non-Exempt **Weekly Hours:** 0 **Employee Status:** Per Diem/Casual Employees of Sutter Health and its entities may handle hazardous drugs in the course of their work, including patient care, which requires them to manage, store, prepare, receive, unpack, transport, dispose of, or administer drugs identified as hazardous or potentially hazardous by the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) and in accordance with the USP 800 guidelines. Pay Range is $51.19 to $63.98 / hour _The salary range for this role may vary above or below the posted range as determined by location. This range has not been adjusted for any specific geographic differential applicable by area where the position may be filled. Compensation takes into account several factors including but not limited to a candidate's experience, education, skills, licensure and certifications, department equity, training and organizational needs.
