Summary:

The HR Specialist is responsible for supporting the day-to-day operations of the Human Resources department. This role involves managing employee relations, coordinating recruitment efforts, supporting employee onboarding, maintaining HR compliance, and assisting with benefits administration. The HR Specialist will collaborate closely with team members and other departments to foster a positive work environment and help achieve company goals.

Responsibilities:

  • Recruitment and Staffing: Assist in the recruitment process by sourcing candidates, scheduling interviews, conducting initial screenings, and supporting hiring managers throughout the selection process.
  • Employee Onboarding and Orientation: Facilitate the onboarding process for new hires, including conducting orientation sessions, preparing new hire paperwork, and ensuring a smooth transition for new employees.
  • Employee Relations: Serve as a point of contact for employee inquiries and concerns, providing guidance on company policies, benefits, and other HR-related matters.
  • Benefits Administration: Assist employees with benefits-related questions, coordinate open enrollment, and manage enrollment/termination processes in coordination with third-party vendors.
  • Compliance and Record-Keeping: Maintain employee records, ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations. Prepare and submit reports related to compliance requirements as needed.
  • Policy and Procedure Implementation: Assist in the development and implementation of HR policies and procedures. Communicate updates and ensure consistent policy application.
  • Performance Management: Support the performance review process, including scheduling, collecting feedback, and tracking progress for timely completion.
  • Employee Engagement: Participate in initiatives to improve employee engagement and retention, such as organizing employee events, recognition programs, and other HR-led activities.

Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.

  • Experience: 2+ years of experience in Human Resources or a similar role; experience in recruiting, onboarding, or employee relations is preferred.
  • Skills:
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
  • Proficiency with HR software (e.g., HRIS) and MS Office applications.
  • Knowledge of employment laws and regulations.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Problem-solving ability and a proactive approach.
