Community Planner 

JOB LOCATION:

SALARY RANGE: 

Starting Salary: $48,401.44/ $23.27/hr.

Pay Grade Z-159

Non-Exempt

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: 

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in related field. 
• Three (3) years’ experience in Planning or related experience. 
• Any equivalent combination of education, experience, and training that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities will be considered. 
• Must have computer skills and working knowledge of Microsoft Office 365. 
• Strong analytical, organization and time management skills. 
• Willingness to work collaboratively as a team as well as individually. 
• Must have excellent written and oral communication skills. 
• Will obtain knowledge in historic preservation laws, regulations, guidelines, and historic district. 

BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES: 

• Responsible for identification, evaluation, documentation, registration, planning, education, programs, and activities for the protection of cultural and historical resources. 
• Review or assist with the review of development proposals and site plans for conformance with codes, plans, regulations and city policies; interpret and update historic district guidelines and standards. 
• Develop and implement land use development regulations, comprehensive plan amendments, and updates, general zoning functions including site plan review and rezoning. 
• Provides relevant information on historical subject matter as well as laws, regulations, and guidelines. 
• Administrates information and technical assistance to property owners, private development interests, realtors and the general public.

EMPLOYMENT REQUIREMENTS:
The selected candidate will have a background check completed and complete a physical exam before employment. Possession of a current valid Florida driver license is also required before employment. 

The compensation package will start at the base salary range and may vary based on proven abilities of the individual selected. The City of Zephyrhills has an excellent benefit package, which includes medical, dental, life insurance, and Florida Retirement System (FRS).
