Commercial Loan Officer - Junior to Senior Level
Location: Southeast Michigan
Full-Time Position
Summary of Duties:
We are seeking a dynamic Commercial Loan Officer to join our team and play a key role in cultivating and managing commercial relationships. This position is available at both junior and senior levels, depending on experience. The role focuses on originating and servicing commercial loans, with an emphasis on C&I lending, including lines of credit, term loans, and owner-occupied real estate, across Southeast Michigan.
Responsibilities:
* Build and maintain strong relationships with new and existing clients, identifying their commercial lending needs.
* Originate and manage a commercial loan portfolio focused on C&I lending, with occasional investment real estate opportunities.
* Perform detailed financial analysis and risk assessment to support credit decisions.
* Structure and negotiate loans, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies.
* Provide accurate and thorough documentation for all loan files.
* Communicate loan decisions effectively to clients and guide them through the loan closing process.
* Actively promote the bank's products and services through community involvement and professional networking.
* Develop and expand a network of referral sources to generate new business opportunities.
* Stay informed about regulatory updates and ensure compliance in all activities.
* Represent the bank positively in the Southeast Michigan community.
Qualifications:
* Prior experience in commercial lending, with a solid background in credit analysis (junior to senior level based on experience).
* Demonstrated ability to analyze financial statements and assess risk effectively.
* Strong consultative sales skills with a proven ability to build and retain client relationships.
* Proficiency in SBA 7a and 504 loan products is preferred.
* Bachelor's degree in business, finance, accounting, or management preferred.
* Excellent communication, organization, and customer service skills.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and CRM systems.
* High level of integrity and ability to handle confidential information.
* Strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and ability to manage multiple priorities.
* Self-motivated with a strong initiative to achieve results.
