We provide both traditional post-anesthesia care and specialized recovery for critically ill ICU-level patients. There are four PACUs on the Barnes-Jewish Hospital campus: South Tower PACU--86 bedsShift: 4x10s, 5:30am start time or rotating start times (10:00 AM or 12:00 PM) availableCritical care pay eligibleDiverse, high-acuity patient population: neuro, transplant, orthopedic, ENT, cardiac, vascular, thoracic, trauma, spineParkview Plaza Tower--44 bedsShift: 4x10 hour shifts, start times between 10:00 AM - 12:00 PMCritical care pay eligibleRecover minimally invasive surgery, urology, colorectal, gynecology, bariatric and gender reassignment surgeriesPlaza West Tower--34 bedsShift: 4x10 hour shifts--630A, 730A, 8:00A start times availableCritical care pay eligibleRecover cutting-edge interventional radiology cases Center for Advanced Medicine--40 bedsShift options: 4x10s or 5x8sNo nights, holidays or weekendsRecover ophthalmology, orthopedic , breast, flaps, vascular and gender reaffirming surgeries If you have one year of experience in critical care or on a progressive care unit we encourage you to apply. ResponsibilitiesPromotes patient and family centered care in a healing environment. Educates patients and their families on how to manage their illness or injury, including post treatment home care needs and medication administration.Participates in activities that promote patient safety, quality and regulatory compliance. Participates in professional development.Develops, implements, and documents individual plans of care with defined goals in collaboration with other members of the interprofessional team and patient, family or caregiver in accordance with the established guidelines and standards of nursing care. Proactively plans and ensures communication of the plan of care across the continuum of care.Uses critical nursing skills to assess and evaluate physical, psychosocial, and emotional needs according to standards of care. Assess patient preferences and barriers to involvement in care, including their values, emotional, spiritual, cultural, and population-specific needs.BJC has determined this is a safety-sensitive position.
