**Responsibilities**
The Chief Accounting Officer (CAO) will oversee the accounting function and provide leadership, direction, and management for all accounting operations at Ascension. The CAO is the main liaison with the internal and external auditors and ensures the system complies with all generally accepted accounting principles, auditing standards and healthcare industry standards. The CAO provides high-level strategic support to the CFO and the finance ministry wide function's senior management team.
+ Collaborates with Ascension CFO and Leadership Team to ensure financial strategies align with the company's objectives.
+ Focuses on fostering the financial stewardship of the organization, supporting the organization's finance strategic priorities. Provides financial policies, processes and thought leadership to ensure financial integrity across the system.
+ Leads and manages the accounting CoE, ensuring all accounting functions are completed accurately and timely. Coordinates and leads internal and external audits.
+ Responsible for ensuring the integrity of financial reporting, compliance with regulatory requirements, and the development of strategies to support long-term growth.
+ Drives continuous improvement initiatives to reduce manual processes, increase efficient and streamline accounting operations.
+ Serves as a change agent champion for Accounting CoE
**Requirements**
Education:
+ Bachelor's degree required.
+ Master's degree preferred.
Work Experience:
+ 10 years of experience required.
+ 15 years of experience preferred.
+ 5 years of leadership or management experience preferred.
**Additional Preferences**
