Bookkeeper | Battle Creek, MI

Salary Range: $44,000 - $64,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity

We partner with manufacturers across Battle Creek seeking Bookkeepers who want more than a lateral move. These companies hire intentionally, and we connect them with professionals ready for roles that fit.

Key Responsibilities

• Process accounts payable for raw materials, supplies, and operating expenses.
• Manage accounts receivable, including customer invoicing and collections for manufactured goods.
• Perform accurate and timely bank and credit card reconciliations.
• Process payroll for manufacturing and administrative staff.
• Maintain the general ledger, posting journal entries, and ensuring data integrity.
• Assist with month-end close activities and preparation of basic financial reports.
• Support inventory data entry and cost of goods sold calculations.

Recommended Qualifications

• Proficiency in general ledger management, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll processing.
• Demonstrated experience with cost accounting principles, including inventory valuation, work-in-progress (WIP), and cost of goods sold (COGS) in a manufacturing setting.
• Proficiency with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics) or advanced accounting software.
• Strong ability to perform bank and account reconciliations accurately and timely.
• Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills for financial data review and discrepancy resolution.

Bonus Qualifications

• Experience with manufacturing-specific ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Epicor, NetSuite).
• Basic understanding of cost accounting principles, including COGS and inventory valuation methods.
• Familiarity with inventory management processes and their financial impact.
• Experience with fixed asset tracking and depreciation for manufacturing equipment.
