Alcohol Manager Job Description Reports To: Store Manager/WBS Buyer

Job Summary: The Alcohol Manager is responsible for assisting customers with wine selections, maintaining a well-stocked and organized wine section, and ensuring compliance with store policies and alcohol regulations. This role requires strong customer service skills, product knowledge, and attention to detail.
Key Responsibilities: Customer Service & Sales: - Greet and assist customers in selecting wines based on their preferences, food pairings, and special occasions.
- Provide recommendations and educate customers on different wine varieties, regions, and vintages.
- Assist with wine tastings and promotional events as needed.
Stocking & Merchandising: - Maintain proper stock levels and ensure the shelves are fully stocked and organized.
- Rotate inventory to prevent expired or damaged products from being sold.
- Assist in setting up seasonal displays and promotional signage.
Compliance & Store Operations: - Follow all state and federal regulations regarding alcohol sales, including checking customer IDs when necessary.
- Keep the wine section clean and orderly.
- Assist with receiving, pricing, and tagging wine shipments.
Qualifications & Requirements: - Previous experience in retail, grocery, or wine sales is preferred.
- Knowledge of wine varieties, food pairings, and industry trends is a plus.
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 40 lbs.
- Must be at least 21 years of age to be able to sell alcohol.
- Certain certifications can be beneficial such as: Responsible Beverage Service (RBS) Training
