Alcohol Manager Job Description
Reports To: Store Manager/WBS Buyer

Job Summary:
The Alcohol Manager is responsible for assisting customers with wine selections, maintaining a well-stocked and organized wine section, and ensuring compliance with store policies and alcohol regulations. This role requires strong customer service skills, product knowledge, and attention to detail.

Key Responsibilities:

Customer Service & Sales:

• Greet and assist customers in selecting wines based on their preferences, food pairings, and special occasions.
• Provide recommendations and educate customers on different wine varieties, regions, and vintages.
• Assist with wine tastings and promotional events as needed.

Stocking & Merchandising:

• Maintain proper stock levels and ensure the shelves are fully stocked and organized.
• Rotate inventory to prevent expired or damaged products from being sold.
• Assist in setting up seasonal displays and promotional signage.

Compliance & Store Operations:

• Follow all state and federal regulations regarding alcohol sales, including checking customer IDs when necessary.
• Keep the wine section clean and orderly.
• Assist with receiving, pricing, and tagging wine shipments.

Qualifications & Requirements:

• Previous experience in retail, grocery, or wine sales is preferred.
• Knowledge of wine varieties, food pairings, and industry trends is a plus.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 40 lbs.
• Must be at least 21 years of age to be able to sell alcohol.

• Certain certifications can be beneficial such as: Responsible Beverage Service (RBS) Training
