Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and passionate Sushi Chef to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of sushi preparation and presentation, along with a commitment to maintaining high standards of food safety and quality. As a Sushi Chef, you will play a vital role in creating an exceptional dining experience for our guests by preparing fresh, high-quality temaki dishes in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and present sushi dishes according to established recipes and standards.
  • Ensure all food is prepared in compliance with food safety regulations and guidelines.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the sushi station and kitchen area.
  • Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely meal preparation and service.
  • Monitor inventory levels of sushi ingredients and assist in ordering supplies as needed.
  • Provide exceptional customer service by engaging with guests and accommodating special requests.
  • Stay updated on current trends in sushi preparation and presentation techniques.
  • Assist in training new kitchen staff on sushi preparation methods and food handling practices.

Skills

  • Proficient knife skills for precise cutting and presentation of sushi ingredients.
  • Strong knowledge of food safety practices and regulations within the food industry.
  • Experience working in a restaurant or fine dining environment, particularly in sushi or Asian cuisine.
  • Ability to handle food safely, ensuring high standards of hygiene are maintained at all times.
  • Excellent meal preparation skills, with attention to detail in plating and presentation.
  • Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members and provide customer service.
  • Experience in catering is a plus, as it may involve preparing large quantities of sushi for events.
