Job Description

Steel Detailer - Structural Steel

Our client, a commercial structural steel fabricator/erector has an opening for a Structural Steel Detailer/Draftsman to join their team.

Responsibilities:

* Read and interpret contract drawings and specifications.
* Create fabrication/erection drawings and Bill of Materials for structural and misc. steel projects.
* Work closely with project Engineers and Architects to interpret/resolve design issues.
* Create and submit RFI's as necessary.
* Work closely with fabrication team to interpret/resolve layout and/or detail issues.
* Ability to check/redline the work of other Steel Detailers
* Perform field measurements to translate into custom layouts and fabrication drawings, as required.
* Any other duties that may be assigned

Skills/Experience:

* Minimum of 2 years' experience (preferred)
* SDS/2 experience preferred, but not required.
* AutoCAD experience
* Basic computer skills including Microsoft Office
* Self-motivated, organized, strong communication skills.
