Summary

The Opportunity:
  • The Young Mind Center was founded in 2011 in Phoenix, AZ and opened the first transdisciplinary, inclusive early autism intervention center in the Valley in 2018. 
  • We are seeking an experienced pediatric SLP to join our team and be a part of our effort to set the standard for excellence in leadership and teaming in the field of early autism intervention.

We believe children with ASD should be afforded the same opportunities to play, learn, and have fun as if they were typically developing. Our intervention takes place in an inclusive preschool with typically developing peers.

The requirements you have:
  • 2+ years practicing as a SLP working with young children with autism
  • Licensed Speech Language Pathologist ? ADHS
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) ? ASHA
  • AZ IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card

Duties

  • Assessment + Reporting:   Conduct comprehensive evaluations related to areas including articulation, fluency, voice, expressive, receptive and pragmatic language, and feeding and use results to guide individualized goals and objectives; regularly monitor child progress and update or modify individual goals on a quarterly basis
  • Individualized Support:  Design treatment plans, implement evidence-based interventions, and propose educational materials for the purpose of minimizing the adverse impact of communication and feeding disorders
  • Collaboration:  Embrace a transdisciplinary approach and act as lead on subjects related to communicative disorders, use of assistive devices, and/or implementing prescribed treatment plans
  • Family Partnership: Communicate clearly, accurately, professionally, and regularly with families; engage and encourage parent participation to support the progress of their child; demonstrate cultural competency and respect familial values and beliefs.
  • Administration:   Maintain files and/or records (e.g., progress reports, activity logs, billing information, treatment plans, required documentation, quarterly reports, screening results, etc.) for the purpose of ensuring availability of information as required for reference and/or compliance. Ensure ethical and effective billing practices.

Requirements

  • Master's Degree in Speech and Communication Disorders
  • Licensed Speech Language Pathologist ? ADHS
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) ? ASHA
  • AZ IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card
  • Experience working with children 18 months ? 6 years
