Job Description

Shirley Parsons is working with a leading, regional construction contractor, to help them find a Safety Coordinator in the New York City area. Reporting into the Safety Manager, this hands-on role will support a variety of projects in New York City and Brooklyn. This person will be responsible for executing the company’s safety initiatives and programs on designated projects and foster a robust safety culture.

The Role

• Cultivate strong relationships with clients and on-site personnel to foster collaboration and ensure successful outcomes.
• Perform daily safety audits and proactively identify opportunities to enhance on-site safety practices.
• Create Job Safety Analyses for environments with high-risk tasks
• Support incident and near miss investigations, to identify root causes and preventive actions
  
  

The Candidate

• 1-5 years of safety experience in within construction, civil engineering, or utilities.
• Experience working in a Union setting preferred.
• Familiarity with OSHA standards and best practices within the construction sector
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to influence and build strong relationships with project personnel
• Ability to travel as required throughout New York across multiple project locations
