Position Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated Refrigeration Maintenance Technician to join our dynamic team. In this role, you'll be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of commercial refrigeration systems—including specialized work on ice machines—ensuring our clients receive top-tier service. Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintenance & Repair:
    • Perform routine maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on refrigeration systems and ice machines to maintain optimal performance.
    • Conduct troubleshooting independently, utilizing advanced diagnostic tools and technical knowledge to resolve issues swiftly.
  • Independent Work:
    • Manage your own schedule and projects with a high degree of autonomy.
    • Plan and execute service calls and maintenance visits independently, ensuring timely and effective solutions.
  • Ice Machine Expertise:
    • Provide specialized maintenance and repair for ice machines, ensuring consistent performance and adherence to safety standards.
    • Keep abreast of industry trends and technological advancements in ice machine operations.
  • Customer Service & Communication:
    • Build strong relationships with clients through professional, clear, and courteous communication.
    • Educate clients on proper usage and maintenance of their equipment to prevent future issues.
  • Safety & Compliance:
    • Adhere to all local, state, and federal regulations, as well as Kensington Mechanical's rigorous safety protocols.
    • Ensure that all work environments are safe and that best practices are consistently followed.
  • Documentation & Reporting:
    • Maintain accurate records of all maintenance and repair activities, including parts used and time spent.
    • Provide detailed reports to management to assist in strategic planning and continuous improvement.

Qualifications:

  • Education & Certification:
    • High school diploma or equivalent; technical training in refrigeration and HVAC technology is required.
    • EPA Section 608 Certification.
    • Additional relevant certifications are a plus.
  • Experience:
    • Minimum 1 year of hands-on experience in commercial refrigeration maintenance and repair or HVAC field experience.
    • Proven experience working on ice machines and related equipment is highly desirable.
  • Technical Skills:
    • Proficient in diagnosing and repairing refrigeration systems, HVAC systems, and ice machines.
    • Familiarity with electrical components, compressors, condensers, evaporators, and related equipment.
    • Strong problem-solving skills with an independent, can-do attitude.
  • Other Requirements:
    • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
    • Must have a valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
    • Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and on-call shifts as needed.
