Position Summary



CDLS is hiring a specialist in grant development, education, and outreach with extensive experience in inclusive excellence programming, disaster resilience, community partnerships, tribal partnerships, and working with students, in the Earth and Environmental Sciences. The Grant and Program Specialist will use their expertise in practices, policies, and procedures to prepare proposals, support partnerships, and implement initiatives, including programming and student and community engagement. The candidate will support programming for the center and partners, while also leading proposal writing and collaborating on related grant proposal development and implementation. They will demonstrate strong judgment in facilitation, community engagement, tribal partnerships, writing to deadlines, editing, and strategic development. The role includes working closely with faculty, staff, students, and community partners, in response to the recent fires and changing CDLS strategy and directions. The ideal candidate will have writing experience in green STEM, and partnership and trust-building with different groups, including tribal organizations and community-based organizations. They will also have experience with time tracking and project management.

Qualifications



  • 5+ years Proven experience in inclusive excellence and community-engaged programming, specifically within STEM or Earth System Science (Required)
  • 5+ years Experience with program implementation and project management (Required)
  • 5+ years Experience with grant proposal writing and fundraising andreporting. (Required)
  • 5+ years Leadership experience in community engagement, particularly with low-resource and rural and tribal communities. (Required)
  • 5+ years Proven ability to collaborate with diverse stakeholders, including faculty, administrators, students, and external partners, and to respond to changing priorities and short rapid response deadlines (Required)
  • Inclusive Excellence Expertise: Extensive experience designing, implementing, and evaluating programs, specifically within STEM, Earth, and Environmental Sciences. (Required)
  • Grant and Proposal Writing: Proficiency in writing grant proposals and fundraising and reporting in relevant areas. (Required)
  • Stakeholder Coordination and Collaboration: Ability to work effectively with internal departments, faculty, external partners, and stakeholders to coordinate initiatives and programming. (Required)


Education, Licenses, Certifications & Personal Affiliations



  • Bachelor's Degree In a related field and/or equivalent experience/training. (Required)
  • Master's Degree In a related field and/or equivalent experience/training. (Preferred)
