JOB TITLE: Associate Material Planning and Process Technician
DEPARTMENT: Material Planning
REPORTS TO: CEO
JOB SUMMARY :
Learn and understand the purpose, the functions, and the expectations of the Material Planning Department of the company. Perform general tasks and duties to support the Material Planning department, while receiving thorough training to eventually support an identified facility or identified departments. Support the Work Order Release process.
EXAMPLES OF ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
· Learn, understand, and support the Purpose, Goals, and Values of the Material Planning Department
· Learn, understand, and become proficient in Visual Manufacturing, LillyWorks, Smart Views, and the Visual Connector hosted by Synergy
· Learn, understand, and engage in the Complete and Accurate process; Participate in daily meetings
· Review the shop floor schedule to determine the work order release list
· Review all C&A requirements, material specifications, and material needs for each order that needs to be released
· If approved for release, issue raw material, release, and print the work order
packet and all related items
· If not approved for release, send communication to the necessary departments
· Review and analyze shop floor schedule, ensuring the accuracy of Cycle Times and Setup Times
· If inaccurate, modify in Smart Views and notify methods to modify the Engineering Master
· Create and Close fixture and internal part work orders
· Assist with general material planning tasks such as cycle time and setup time adjustments, leave open and close short adjustments, min and max adjustments, the adjustment of other parameters within VMFG as needed, review of operations not closed, over run and over claim adjustments, morning and afternoon process tasks for LillyWorks, run the MRP Scheduler, and other transactional or data entry tasks identified by the team
· Kit shelves on production floor and ensure product is moved when changes are made to the schedule
· Train on all aspects of material planning, shadowing each member of the team, gaining some understanding of each facility to be able to provide support during PTO, busy times, and to eventually have ownership of a department/facility/or multiple departments within the company.
· Review existing Work Instructions while training and modify as needed, submit for approval, and link to Training Matrix
· Create new Work Instructions while training where they do not exist, submit for approval, and link to Training Matrix
· Assist the ECO process with locating and removing impacted work orders from the production floor, as well as any additional material planning tasks needed once the ECO is processed.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
High school diploma or GED; supplemented by one or more years’ material planning or process technician experience; or an equivalent combination of education, certification, training, and/or experience.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
· Knowledge of Visual ERP and work order and process creation
· Working knowledge of the principles and methods of effective project management
· General knowledge and understanding of ISO 13485 and FDA 21CFR820 as it pertains to the job
· Skilled in the use of computer software including but not limited to Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel, SolidWorks software, and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems
· Skilled in basic math including but not limited to adding, subtracting, multiplication, division, geometric construction, practical algebra and metrics
· Skilled in adapting to a changing work environment, competing demands and ability to deal with frequent change, delays or unexpected events
· Skilled in setting priorities that move projects through efficiently to achieve customer and quality objectives
· Skilled in working independently and following through with assignments with minimal supervision
· Ability to analyze costs
· Ability to use reasoning skills that minimize duplication of efforts, including but not limited to comparing, classifying, analyzing and coordinating
· Ability to multi-task while working with tight deadlines and shifting priorities
· Ability to establish and maintain effective and cooperative working relationships with those contacted in the course of work
· Ability to clearly communicate and understand information in English, both orally and in writing
