We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Prior Authorization Specialist. This role is essential to the timely processing of prior authorizations, patient documentation, and administrative support related to minor procedures. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, communicating directly with patients, and managing multiple tasks efficiently.
This position is full-time, Monday-Friday. However, there could be some flexibility for the right experienced candidate.
Key Responsibilities:
Complete, follow up on, and manage prior authorization requests for medications, procedures, and treatments.
Assist patients with requests, which include DMV forms, disability documentation, and paid leave paperwork.
Coordinate and complete documentation for minor procedures.
Contact patients regarding authorization status, medication needs, and related issues.
Prescribe appropriate medications under supervision or per protocol.
Log completed laser treatments and minor procedures accurately.
Support additional administrative and clerical tasks as needed.
Qualifications:
Previous experience in a healthcare administrative or medical office setting is preferred.
Knowledge of insurance and authorization processes is strongly preferred, but not required.
Strong attention to detail and ability to manage time effectively.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Proficient with electronic health records (EHR) and general computer skills.
Must pass a criminal background check and drug screen.
Must be at least 18 years old to apply.
