The Department of Pediatrics at Mayo Clinic in La Crosse, WI, is seeking board certified/board eligible inpatient pediatricians/pediatric hospitalists to join a physician-led organization in a community practice. The department provides coverage for inpatient pediatric admissions, and the nursery in La Crosse in collaboration with the local Family Medicine Residency Program. The Family Birthplace birthing center in La Crosse experiences approximately 600 births annually. A team of Rochester-based pediatric specialists also provide outreach services in La Crosse on a scheduled basis.
The scope of the inpatient pediatrician/pediatric hospitalist duties include:
The standard shift for the full-time (1.0 FTE) inpatient pediatrician/pediatric hospitalist is 24 hours per day for a total of 10 shifts per month. Inpatient pediatricians/pediatric hospitalists are required to be within 30 minutes of the hospital in order to cover the Level 1 nursery and pediatric admissions.

La Crosse, Wisconsin
La Crosse, WI , is a city of 52,000 with a metro area of 120,000 in the Upper Mississippi River Valley, located between Minneapolis/St. Paul, MN, and Madison, WI. The area offers unlimited, four-season recreational opportunities (biking, golf, hiking the bluffs and cross-country/downhill skiing). QualificationsCandidates must be board certified / board eligible with the American Board of Pediatrics and be licensed or eligible to be licensed in the state of Wisconsin.
