Job Description

Our client is looking for a Payroll Specialist to join their dynamic team in their Downtown Chicago office. If you're looking for a great company with a fresh team, here's your chance!  As a Payroll Specialist , you will play a crucial role in ensuring accurate and timely processing of payroll for their employees and work alongside the HR team.

Payroll Specialist Responsibilities:
  • Process bi-weekly or monthly payroll for employees accurately and efficiently
  • Calculate and input payroll data, including hours worked, bonuses, commissions and deductions
  • Verify payroll reports for accuracy and resolve any discrepancies
  • Respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll-related matters
  • Collaborate with HR and finance teams to ensure compliance with payroll regulations and company policies
  • Assist with payroll tax filings and other payroll-related compliance tasks
  • Stay updated on payroll regulations and best practices
Payroll Specialist Requirements:
  • Previous experience as a payroll specialist or similar role
  • Proficiency in payroll software and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Strong understanding of payroll regulations and compliance requirements
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
  • Exceptional organizational and time management skills
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Human Resources or related field preferred
  • Certification in payroll (e.g., CPP – Certified Payroll Professional) a plus
  • Experience with ADP, Paychex or other payroll processing systems preferred
  • Knowledge of multi-state payroll processing preferred
  • Familiarity with HRIS (Human Resources Information Systems)
