Insero Talent Solutions is recruiting a Maintenance Supervisor for a growing manufacturing company in Rochester, NY.
Job Summary:
The Maintenance Supervisor oversees all maintenance activities in a fast-paced insulator manufacturing facility. This role is responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of production equipment, utilities, and building infrastructure. The Maintenance Supervisor leads a team of technicians and coordinates preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance while minimizing downtime and maximizing productivity.
Key Responsibilities:
· Supervise daily activities of maintenance technicians across shifts.
· Plan and schedule preventive and corrective maintenance for manufacturing equipment such as kilns, presses, extruders, mixers, ovens, and molding machinery.
· Ensure maintenance tasks comply with safety, quality, and environmental standards.
· Assist with troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems as needed.
· Monitor inventory of critical spare parts and maintenance supplies.
· Coordinate with production, engineering, and quality teams to minimize equipment downtime.
· Maintain accurate records of equipment maintenance, repairs, and inspections.
· Oversee contractors and external service providers for specialized repairs or projects.
· Coach, train and develop maintenance staff on equipment, safety procedures, and troubleshooting techniques.
· Lead continuous improvement initiatives related to equipment reliability and energy efficiency.
· Assist in capital projects, equipment upgrades, and new installations.
Qualifications:
Education & Experience:
· High school diploma or GED required; technical degree or certification preferred.
· Minimum 5 years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing setting, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or lead role.
· Experience in the insulator or ceramics/glass industry is a strong plus.
Technical Skills:
· Solid understanding of mechanical, electrical, and PLC-controlled systems.
· Familiarity with CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems).
· Strong knowledge of safety regulations (e.g., OSHA standards).
· Ability to read blueprints, equipment manuals, and electrical schematics.
Soft Skills:
Strong leadership and team management skills.
Excellent organizational and communication skills.
Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities under pressure.
