Our client, a leading litigation firm, is seeking a Litigation Support Specialist, Paralegal to join their team. This position will be hybrid, requiring full-time in-office presence for the first 90 days. As an ESI Paralegal and Specialist, the candidate will support attorneys across multiple offices throughout all phases of litigation, from case initiation to trial and appeal. Several years of litigation and eDiscovery experience in California state and federal courts is preferred. Proficiency in tools like Relativity, OnCue, and Opus is required. The successful candidate will manage document collections, oversee eDiscovery databases, prepare court filings, coordinate trial logistics, and more. A bachelor’s degree or ABA-approved paralegal certificate is preferred.

- Job Responsibilities & Tasks
- Collect documents and other materials from client, opposing parties, and third parties (hard copies, electronic data, and physical evidence) and maintain the chain of custody
- Load, organize, and manage documents to allow for easy retrieval and/or review by attorney
- Review and tag documents in electronic document management databases for privilege and key issues
- Oversee the logistics of document production, redactions, and preparation of privilege logs
- Interact with outside parties, including clients, third-parties, vendors, experts, court personnel and other attorneys
- Perform factual research or background research of experts and witnesses
- Enter data and prepare chronologies and timelines and lists of key witnesses/players
- Assemble and organize appendices, exhibits, and supporting documents for court filing and service
- Prepare correspondence, legal forms, subpoenas, and other basic pleadings
- Conduct legal research and perform cite checking using Lexis Nexis or Westlaw
- Create tables of contents and authorities with hyperlinks for court-filed documents
- Prepare binders of key documents for depositions, hearings, and attorney review
- Manage technical logistics for depositions and trial, including conference or courtroom logistics for deposition, trial, or hearing and provide trial-tech support as needed
- Prepare witness outlines, jury instructions, demonstratives, trial designations, witness lists, exhibit lists and binders, and other materials for trial and trial presentation
- Coordinate the scheduling of witnesses for preparation and testimony
- Assist with special projects and other related duties as needed
Specific eDiscovery responsibilities include- Creating new cases.
- Identifying, collecting, loading, and organizing client documents for review.
- Applying ECA, TAR, and other analytics to streamline document review process.
- Creating and supporting document review and production workflows.
- Establishing coding and issue fields and searching criteria.
- Conducting document searches and issue tagging of key documents in client and third-party productions.
- Identifying privileged communications, redacting documents for production, and preparing privilege logs.
- Reviewing, analyzing, Bates-labeling, producing, and maintaining ESI and other discovery documents in administrative and litigation matters.
Qualifications and Litigation Experience- Bachelor’s Degree or Paralegal Certificate from an ABA-approved program preferred
- Electronic discovery experience with complex business litigation in CA state and federal courts (experience with commercial real estate and construction litigation preferred but not required)
- Proficient using database systems and legal software tools, such as Relativity, Opus, and OnCue, is essential
- Strong software skills and knowledge such as Adobe/Kofax, Microsoft Suite
- 1,600 billable hour requirement
Expected salary for this non-exempt role is $85,000 - $115,000, commensurate with experience, training, skills, qualifications, and other market factors.
