Job Description

Salary: $100,000 - 145,000 per year Requirements:

  • I have a Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a similar field, with 9 years of prior relevant experience; or a graduate degree with a minimum of 7 years of related experience; or, in lieu of a degree, I have at least 13 years of prior related experience.
  • I am experienced in using C/C++ to develop embedded software.
  • I am able to obtain a Secret Security Clearance from the U.S. Government, which requires U.S. Citizenship.
  • I possess experience with Real-Time Operating Systems.
  • I have knowledge of writing low-level software, such as drivers and Board Support Packages (BSPs).
  • I have a basic understanding of hardware design, circuits, schematics, and test equipment.
  • I possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Responsibilities:
  • I will assist in planning and executing large technical projects.
  • I will apply software engineering designs and principles throughout the software lifecycle.
  • I will define requirements and workflows to create software components that meet technical, schedule, and design-to-cost goals.
  • I will perform unit, integration, and system testing activities.
  • I will communicate effectively with team members throughout the organization.
  • I will support bid and proposal activities, including cost and schedule estimation.
  • I will provide guidance, coaching, and training to employees.
  • I will strive to make significant improvements in processes, systems, or products.
  • I will provide input into new products and processes, implementing operational plans with measurable impacts on business or functional results.
  • I will generate technical documentation in support of software releases.

I am seeking an Embedded Software Engineering Lead to join my current team to work on the development of our Infrared Camera Systems. This individual will support all phases of the software engineering lifecycle to produce solutions that satisfy a range of customer requirements. Preferred additional skills include experience with communication protocols such as Ethernet, RS422, 1553, GigE Vision, CoaXPress, and Camera Link; experience with infrared technology; experience with other programming languages such as C#, MATLAB, and Python; experience with Subversion for software version control; experience in Windows and Linux development environments; familiarity with electronic test equipment; and experience in the Defense, Space, Aerospace, or similar industries. A basic understanding of the principles of Earned Value Management (EVM) is also preferred.
