Role and Responsibilities : The Investment Analyst III assists in the analysis, administration, and reporting of the Company's investment portfolio and performs analysis on a wide range of investments including corporate and municipal credit, mortgage- and asset-backed securities, and public and private equity investments. The analyst position may also assist with asset allocation, asset and liability management, cash flow projection, and other investment projects.
Your responsibilities will include :
- Serve as the primary lead for all transaction types. Develop relationships with brokers/investment managers and provide feedback independently. Source new investment opportunities and make recommendations to portfolio management.
- Place bids on or make commitments to new investment opportunities under the direction of portfolio management.
- Monitor portfolio holdings and evaluate credit issues and active trading opportunities. Independently source, evaluate, and execute opportunities under supervision of portfolio management.
- Lead analysis relating to amendment/restructuring efforts as they arise. Report findings and make recommendations to portfolio management.
- Provide oversight and serve as the lead for all legal or accounting matters as they arise.
- Develop an understanding of broader portfolio objectives and think strategically about how daily trading activities impact these objectives.
- Serve as the lead for impairment review analysis and present findings to portfolio management.
- Construct quarterly and monthly reporting needs including: investment committee, quarterly reviews, offsite meetings, and ad hoc reports as requested by management. Maintain reporting databases.
- Maintain strong market/sector knowledge and evaluate opportunities as they arise.
- Assist in the development of junior analysts. Answer questions and provide guidance on any matters as needed.
Qualifications:
- BBA in a finance related major or BS in a math or engineering related major
- MBA degree with finance coursework or comparable work experience preferred
- Completion of CFA Level II exam with finance and economics coursework or comparable work experience
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent decision-making skills
