Job Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and board-certified Interventional Radiologist Physician to provide direct patient care. This position involves performing a variety of interventional radiology procedures, providing consultations, and participating in quality improvement activities. The role requires technical proficiency, adherence to established policies, and the ability to work effectively in both scheduled and on-call capacities. Physicians must arrive punctually for scheduled clinics, with their presence documented at the start time. They are required to see patients on-site in accordance with Rules and Regulations regarding clinic wait times and the completion of consults and orders. The contractor is responsible for notifying the COR monthly about any challenges in meeting these performance measures. Physicians should consult and instruct referring clinicians on the appropriate indications for interventional radiologic procedures, ensuring timely and effective work-ups. They will determine treatment plans and communicate these to referring clinicians, while also reviewing consults and next-day patient cases for at least two hours daily. Post-procedure evaluations, follow-up consultations on complications, and adherence to medication policies are essential, with no sample medications to be given to patients. Discharge education and follow-up instructions must be coordinated for emergency department patients. Physicians are expected to engage in continuous quality improvement activities, participate in committee meetings, and conduct peer reviews for approximately four hours each month. Additionally, they must comply with all patient safety and infection control standards, taking proactive measures to prevent medication errors, falls, and any patient injuries resulting from care delivery. Perform other duties assigned.
