Job Description

Margaritaville Resort Cape Cod is seeking a Security Guard to join our team. The Guard is responsible for protecting the assigned property from criminal activity and trespassing.  

Provide safe entry and stay for guests. Carry out regular patrols of the hotel and surroundings. Maintain the hotel's image and reputation by maintaining law and order. Provide a strict security setup and environment for employees, assets, and guests. The following duties and responsibilities are not exclusive or all-inclusive. Other duties may be required and assigned.

• Provide a welcoming environment for guests.
• Investigate incidents and create reports by recording observations, occurrences, and surveillance activities.
• Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor.
• Perform various security checks and follow post orders as the hotel management directs.
• Communicate effectively with guests while maintaining excellent hospitality and interpersonal skills.
• Patrol all grounds indoors and outdoors, looking out for suspicious activities.
• Patrol guest areas for suspicious activities and unauthorized people.
• Watch for unusual, illegal, or dangerous activities on the premises.
• Patrol hallways, parking lots, stairwells, lobbies, bars, and restaurants, including video surveillance.
• From time to time, they may have to escort trespassers, evict a guest, or other loiterers.
• Respond and assist other employees when dealing with belligerent guests.
• Follow-up on reports of disturbances in rooms or suspicious characters.
• It could be dispatched via radio or telephone.
• Responsible for enforcing the property rules.
• Inform guests of parking requirements when necessary.
• During emergencies, direct evacuations and alarms may keep guests calm.
• Education, Experience, and Other Qualifications
• Minimum Requirements: Must possess a high school diploma, GED, or equivalent. Must have certification and/or license as a security guard to watch, guard, or patrol and 3 years of security guard experience or equivalent education and experience.
• Knowledge Skills and Abilities:
• To provide job performance excellence, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty, task, and responsibility to meet established standards of excellence set by the General Manager of Operations. • Language Ability:
• Must speak English. Must have the ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the public.
