Position Summary

Summer position providing a unique view of the Education department of a major international arts institution. This full-time, paid position will begin June 9 and run through August 31. Training will be provided. Please submit a resume and cover letter to apply for this position.

Hourly Rate: $18.00

Major Duties and Responsibilities (Essential Functions)
  • Deliver daily gallery tours to our visitors focused on the summer exhibitions and the permanent collection.
  • Answer visitor questions.
  • Assist with preparing and staffing regular art-making programs.
  • Provide general support for Education department programs.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Must be able to commit to work through August 31.
  • Must be able to work weekends.
Minimum Qualifications

Education, Training, and Skills
  • Bachelor’s degree or current college student preferred.
  • Art history majors preferred.
  • Strong communication skills; public speaking experience is helpful.
  • Warm, friendly manner of working with the public, embodying the Clark’s policies and philosophies for excellent visitor engagement.
  • Demonstrated cultural competencies: the ability to understand, communicate with, and effectively interact with people across cultures.

  • Physical Demands:
    • Ability to sit at a desk/workstation and use a computer for prolonged periods of time.
    • Ability to climb stairs.
    • Ability to stand for prolonged periods of time.
    • Ability to bend and reach.
    • Ability to project voice and/or use microphone headset so visitors can hear presentation
 
  • Work Environment: Work will be performed in an office environment, museum spaces, and outdoors. The noise level in the work environment is usually low to moderate but can be high. Weather outdoors can be inclement.
