Job Description

Superfly, is looking to add an experienced Executive Creative Director as head of our creative department, this position sits on the executive leadership team and reports directly to the co-founders.

  • You are a creative powerhouse and leader of people who can easily toggle between the big picture, the nitty gritty and back

  • You believe brand experience is everything and see the future from phygital brand experiences, digital, social and content
  • You are a great storyteller and understand the RFP and pitching process and provide guidance to top tier clients, internal leadership and VP partners 
  • You have proven experience leading and launching large scale, high profile experiential projects from strategic and creative conception through production and installation
  • You thrive on change and challenge, and energize the team around you by inspiring them to do their best work.
  • You are highly strategic and have an equal appreciation and passion for the craft of making things. You’re as much of a doer as you are an inspiring leader.
  • Pivotal to this role is a strong partnership with other discipline leads (business leadership, strategy, production and technology). You create an environment of teamwork and collaboration. Of equal importance is your influencing skills with clients and partner agencies, while remaining humble and adaptable.
  • You should bring in a strong network of freelancers and partners, and are able to vet vendors to cast and structure teams effectively within budgetary and production constraints
  • You are a mentor the internal team, giving feedback and guidance on professional development and growth and understand how to build and structure creative functions, teams and operations


About The Role

Team

  • Build, hire, mentor and manage integrated creative teams CDs, art directors, copywriters, experience design, social & content creators and more. Ultimate accountability for the quality of our creative product.
  • Train, manage, mentor and coach a diverse group of creative professionals with varying skill levels
  • Organize the creative team with the right structures, teams, experience levels, diversity of skills, etc. Plan, assign, schedule and direct work.
  • Help build morale and a creatively driven positive work environment by leading our cultural values.
 

Vision

  • Lead the overall creative vision and development process on all accounts.
  • Push the creative envelope, continually raising the bar on the quality of the client’s creative while delivering successful business solutions for our clients.
  • Keep our creative work vibrant and known via awards, events, media, industry buzz, publishing articles, etc.
  • Go beyond the trends in the experiential space, lean in on digital, technology, social and design to stay both current for brands as those leading our industry.
 

Process

  • Improve accountability across creative teams through management and process improvement.
 

New Business

  • Partner with business leadership to identify creative objectives and strategies; provide input into creative briefs
  • Love new business to showcase our talent and creative thinking for brands


Requirements

  • You have 15+ years proven experience working for a wide range of clients and brands, agency and possibly client-side.
  • You inherently understand experiential and think way beyond traditional advertising and are tapped into current culture
  • You have extensive experience building, managing and coaching teams to help them create their best work
  • You jump in as needed, rolling up your sleeves, getting into the work and concepting, pushing and selling the work while you inspire our team to do their best work.
  • You have a proven ability to collaborate across disciplines such as business leadership, strategy, and production.
  • You are an excellent communicator, and you’re able to present creative concepts and actively listen to clients.
  • You deliver constructive feedback to all members of the team
  • You are self-motivated, hard working, and work well in a fast-paced environment. You believe that the best ideas don’t rely on million-dollar production budgets and a 50-person team

When determining compensation, several unique factors come into play. Currently, a fair estimate range is $215,000-$275,000. Compensation decisions are influenced by factors such as experience, training, skill set, business needs, and travel requirements.
