We are looking for a full-time EWP CAD Designer. As an EWP CAD Designer for Golden State Lumber, you will be responsible for the design and development of engineered wood products for various construction projects. The ideal candidate should have a strong proficiency in CAD software, a deep understanding of EWP, and a commitment to delivering high-quality design solutions.

  • This position is located onsite and is not a remote or hybrid position.

Responsibilities

  • Ability to utilize CAD software to create detailed and accurate design plans to be able to simulate and modify designs easily and be able to open doors to innovation and differentiated products in a fast-paced market.
  • Conduct thorough reviews of design plans to ensure accuracy, adherence to standards, and compliance with building codes.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive design documentation, including drawings, specifications, and any design changes made during the project life cycle.
  • Maintaining accuracy in grading and documenting lumber products to prevent discrepancies.
  • Collaborate with the production team, providing necessary design support and addressing any design-related issues during manufacturing.
  • Work closely with the project managers, architects, and engineers to understand project needs and modifications needed.
  • Attending safety meetings.

Knowledge Skills and Experience

Minimum Education (or substitute experience required):

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Architecture, or related field.

Minimum experience required:

  • Previous experience as a CAD Designer with a focus on EWP design.

Skills required:

  • Proficient in CAD software
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on relevant building codes and industry standards.
  • Ability to communicate skills for collaboration with team members.
  • Knowledge of engineered wood products, including but not limited to LVL and I-joists is a plus.
  • Experience working in the lumber or construction industry is a plus.
