Position Overview

Kiewit Infrastructure Engineers (KIE) has an opening for a dynamic Environmental Engineer Intern. You will be part of our rapidly growing Infrastructure Design Department, which includes structural, geotechnical, civil, drainage, roadway, rail, and materials disciplines. This is a multi-faceted and leading-edge division of Kiewit with best-in-class technical expertise focused on the design-build delivery of infrastructure projects.

Kiewit Infrastructure Engineers seamlessly transitions solutions from design to construction through the collaborative efforts of Design Engineering, Design Management, Proposals, Estimating, and Integrated Project Controls. Our construction-focused engineering approach involves a multidisciplinary team working together to maximize value for clients by improving schedules, controlling costs, and minimizing risk on infrastructure projects. Location

This internship is based in our Lone Tree, CO office.

Responsibilities

  • Develop Water resources/drainage design concepts using AutoCAD
  • Develop presentation exhibits using AutoCAD
  • Investigate alternate intersection/interchange concepts
  • Review environmental documents and permit conditions
  • Develop environmental constraints mapping
  • Investigate permitting requirements

Qualifications

  • Pursuing a degree in Environmental Engineering, Civil Engineering or a related degree
  • GPA above a 3.0 preferred
  • Ability to work full-time in office during the Summer (approximately May - August)
  • Must have knowledge and experience working with Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Strong work ethic - willing to do what it takes to get the job done.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Coursework in transportation, and AutoCAD software
  • Be willing to fully participate in job assignments at the job site, district office or department to which the intern is assigned

• Work during normal operating hours to organize and complete work within given deadlines. Work overtime and weekends as required.

Base Compensation: $18.00/hr - $24.50/hr
(Actual compensation is subject to variation due to such factors as education, experience, skillset, and/or location)
