Job Description

This highly recognized hospital in Southwest Montana is seeking an Emergency Physician Assistant for an exceptional opportunity to provide hands-on care in a dynamic and fast-paced environment. The Emergency Physician Assistant will join a well-established 23 bed critical access hospital known for its patient-centered approach and modern facilities. The hospital has earned a Top 20 Critical Access Hospital designation and maintains a Leapfrog “A” Grade for Patient Safety. As an Emergency Physician Assistant here, you will be part of a growing team providing comprehensive healthcare services to the Southwest Montana community.

The Emergency Physician Assistant reports directly to the Emergency Medicine Medical Director and collaborates closely with a team of experienced providers. Nursing staff, support personnel, and other allied health professionals work alongside the Emergency Physician Assistant to deliver coordinated, high-quality care. Strong communication and collaboration are key to success in this role.

The Emergency Physician Assistant will provide coverage for the hospital’s emergency department, seeing an average of 5,000 patients per year. This department offers a fast-paced, professional environment with a supportive team of skilled providers and staff. The Emergency Physician Assistant will work independently during overnight shifts while consulting with the Medical Director as needed.

The Emergency Physician Assistant will provide full-scope patient care, including assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of emergent and urgent cases. Responsibilities include mentoring and supporting staff, ensuring clinical competencies, and maintaining high-quality standards. Administrative duties include coordinating with the department on staffing, operations, and maintaining compliance with hospital policies.
