Job Description

Trinity Christian Academy of Lexington, Kentucky, is seeking an experienced Educational Specialist who has a background in working with students who have learning disabilities. The ideal candidate will be an enthusiastic and thoughtful educator capable of engaging grammar school students in meaningful Structured Literacy (Orton Gillingham), and math instruction in small groups as well as one-on-one settings. The candidate will use a Structured Literacy approach to address difficulties with reading, spelling, and writing.

The Educational Specialist:

● Works with students one-on-one and in small groups to provide remediation for reading, spelling, writing difficulties, and math.

● Administers and interprets assessments to screen for potential learning disabilities, gather baseline data, and monitor progress.

● Collaborates with both teachers and parents to support students with the content of the phonics, spelling, literature, writing curricula, and math as needed.

● Provides feedback about student progress and recommendations about how to support students

● Works closely with the EXCEL Director to set up accommodation plans for students with language-based learning disabilities and to plan remediation for these students.
