Job Description
We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Director of Health and Wellness to join our Assisted Living team. As the Director, you will lead and manage the health and well-being of our residents, ensuring they receive exceptional care in a supportive, nurturing environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Ensure all clinical care complies with federal, state, and local laws and regulations.
Collect and analyze occurrence trends, implementing improvement plans when necessary.
Collaborate with the Administrator and other team members to maintain the health and safety of both residents and staff.
Work with pharmacy consultants to ensure residents receive optimal pharmaceutical services.
Provide clinical expertise for licensed nursing staff, ensuring high-quality care.
Assist in preparing educational presentations as assigned.
Assess and identify the ongoing needs of residents, updating their service plans as needed, including documenting changes in health care status.
Oversee the completion of monthly updates, reporting any pertinent changes to responsible parties.
Work with department coordinators to review and discuss changes in service or medication levels when applicable.
Participate in community awareness activities and maintain strong community relations.
Keep families or responsible parties informed about any changes in care or health concerns.
Notify the Business Office of any fee changes related to care needs.
Coordinate and schedule clinical staff on a monthly basis.
Ensure adequate clinical supplies are available at all times.
Participate in a rotating on-call schedule.
Other duties as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
You will supervise LPNs, CNAs, and other assigned staff members, ensuring the delivery of high-quality care to residents while adhering to organizational policies and legal requirements.
Qualifications:

Educational Requirements & Experience:
Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in good standing; RN preferred
At least one year of nursing leadership experience; experience in senior living is preferred
BLS (Basic Life Support) Certification required
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Language Skills: Ability to effectively communicate with residents, families, and staff.
Mathematical Skills: Ability to perform basic math operations including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
Cognitive Skills: Ability to understand and apply instructions in written, oral, or diagram form.
Computer Skills: Proficiency with Microsoft Office and the ability to learn new applications.
Competencies:
Strong interest in working with seniors.
Ability to interact with residents, families, and staff in a friendly, professional manner.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules and procedural manuals.
Ability to write clear, concise reports and correspondence.
Ability to adapt to changing environments and demands.
Environmental Adaptability:
Primarily an indoor, climate-controlled environment.
Potential exposure to blood, body fluids, hazardous materials, and infectious diseases.
Exposure to chemicals and unpleasant odors is possible.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to stand and walk regularly.
Frequent use of hands for handling or feeling, and reaching with hands and arms.
Occasional bending, kneeling, or crouching.
Regularly required to lift up to 50 pounds independently and up to 100 pounds with assistance.
Must be able to push up to a 350 lb. wheelchair.
Specific vision abilities required include close and distance vision.
