Job Description:
The Data Governance Manager is responsible for implementing a scalable data governance framework within the Google Cloud environment. The role focuses on defining data standards, ensuring compliance, improving data quality and security, and supporting organizational decision-making.

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement a scalable data governance framework (policies, standards, best practices).
• Ensure data quality, security, and compliance through KPIs, audits, and regular assessments.
• Manage metadata using Google Cloud Dataplex and Data Catalog; implement automated data curation and cataloging practices.
• Maintain business glossary and data dictionary.
• Collaborate with stakeholders across business and IT teams; lead data stewardship initiatives.
• Monitor and report key governance metrics and compliance to senior leadership.
• Conduct training and support programs on data governance principles and tools.

Required Skills:

• Strong experience in data governance, data management, or related domains.
• Proficient in Google Cloud Platform, especially Dataplex and Data Catalog.
• Deep understanding of data governance principles and regulatory requirements.
• SQL expertise.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Familiarity with data warehousing and data modeling.

• Experience in energy or pipeline industry.
• Certifications in data governance or GCP technologies.
• Experience with project management frameworks.
