Data Business Analyst

Location: Remote

Type: Contract

Duration: 6 months

Rate: $ 50-60/hr

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Data Business Analyst to join our Azure-based data modernization initiative. The ideal candidate will have deep experience in data analysis, mapping, and modeling, with a strong foundation in SQL and hands-on experience working with large datasets. You will collaborate closely with data engineers, QA, and reporting teams to ensure accurate, accessible, and business-aligned data delivery across the Microsoft Fabric ecosystem.

Key Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with stakeholders to gather business and data requirements.
• Analyze and profile large datasets using SQL to support business intelligence and data engineering needs.
• Develop and maintain source-to-target data mapping documents.
• Work closely with Data Engineers to validate data transformations and pipeline outputs.
• Partner with Power BI Developers to ensure data models are aligned with business use cases.
• Document business rules, data logic, and lineage to support data governance and quality initiatives.
• Perform gap analysis between current and desired data flows.
• Assist in UAT test case definition and execution in collaboration with QA analysts.
