Job Summary

POSITION SUMMARY

The Cyber Security Analyst will actively contribute to cyber security operations under general direction. Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to cyber security risk analysis, control implementation, configuration management, consulting the Cyber Security Manager on cyber security operations and metrics, assisting in the development and implementation of policy and procedures governing cyber security operations, monitoring various cyber security platforms, and responding to cyber security incidents.

Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Serves as a technical resource for cyber security operations addressing requests within service level agreements and defined uptime requirements.
  • Assist in the development, implementation, and enforcement of cyber security controls to protect information systems.
  • Maintain cyber security platforms and systems.
  • Participate in incident management, service request fulfillment, change management, and asset management.
  • Participate in establishing technical standards for cyber security systems and services.
  • Create supporting documentation for cyber security administration including topology, standards, and procedures.
  • Implement and maintain relevant monitoring and reporting systems to align with established metrics and performance objectives.
  • Participate in cyber security audits.
  • Conduct access management for York County Government resources and data.
  • Participate in disaster recovery operations.
  • Assist third party vendors for cyber security technology and services.
  • Maintain working knowledge of IT operations and functions.
  • Prepare and present pertinent project material.
  • Participate in an on-call rotation.
  • Work on special projects as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.


Essential Requirements



ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS

  • At least 6 months of employment with the York County IT department or 6 months of experience or training with cyber security analysis.
  • Familiar with current cyber security best practices and principles.
  • Familiar with intrusion prevention, detection, access control, identity management, risk analysis, and system auditing.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and customer service skills.
  • Ability to build and maintain positive working relationships with colleagues and staff from other County departments.
  • Able to perform effectively under pressure and in high-stress environments.
  • Capable of explaining technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
  • Proven team player with a collaborative mindset.
  • Understanding of York County Government's operational model, processes, and strategic goals.
  • Completion of a Pennsylvania Criminal Background check and fingerprinting, required for all employees in this role.
  • Possession of a valid and current driver’s license.
