POSITION SUMMARY
Blaze Media is seeking an experienced Copy Editor to assist our growing news team to ensure that all written copy is error-free and compliant with the AP Stylebook and our own proprietary style guide.
This position will report to the Managing Editor and is based at our beautiful digital television and radio studio headquarters in Las Colinas, Texas. Well-qualified candidates will be permitted to work from home.
ABOUT YOU
The ideal applicant will have familiarity with the AP Stylebook, attention to detail, and excellent grammatical skills. The applicant should be prepared to work in a fast-paced environment, quickly reviewing and processing as many as 30 written pieces of 500 to 800 words per day.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
· Review Blaze News pieces and BlazeTV episode descriptions for proper grammar, spelling, and punctuation
· Ensure that material is compliant with AP Stylebook and Blaze News' proprietary style guide
· Effectively manage a heavy workload daily
REQUIREMENTS
· Minimum of 2 years' experience as a copy editor
· Extensive familiarity with the AP Stylebook
· Excellent grammar/writing skills
· Ability to multitask seamlessly in a fast-paced environment
EDUCATION
Bachelor's degree preferred and/or equivalent relevant work experience
