Job Description

Reingold, a social-impact marketing and communications firm in Alexandria, Virginia, is hiring a Contracts Manager to join our Legal team. This is a hybrid role requiring two days per week in office at our headquarters in Alexandria, VA.

The Contracts Manager is responsible for managing all aspects of contract creation, negotiation, execution, and administration, with a focus on contracts related to Reingold’s federal clients. This role involves collaborating with various departments within the organization to ensure that contracts meet the company’s strategic objectives and comply with legal requirements. The Contracts Manager will also be responsible for identifying and mitigating risks associated with contracts, ensuring that the company’s interests are protected.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of contracts, including subcontract agreements, teaming agreements, vendor agreements, service agreements, non-disclosure agreements, and other business/vendor contracts.
  • Work closely with internal stakeholders to ensure that contracts meet the organization’s needs and objectives.
  • Negotiate terms and conditions with external parties to achieve favorable outcomes for the organization.
  • Manage the full contract lifecycle, including the negotiation, execution, management, and closeout of Prime Contracts, Subcontracts, Purchase Orders, Task Orders, and Contract Modifications.
  • Ensure all contractual obligations are met from inception through project completion.
  • Maintain a comprehensive contract database, ensuring that all contracts are properly documented and accessible.
  • Monitor contract performance and compliance, ensuring that all parties fulfill their contractual obligations.
  • Ensure that all contracts comply with relevant laws, regulations, and company policies.
  • Identify potential risks in contracts and develop strategies to mitigate these risks.
  • Work with legal counsel to resolve any disputes or issues that arise during the contract lifecycle.
  • Collaborate with various departments, including procurement, finance, legal, and operations, to ensure contract alignment with business objectives.
  • Act as a point of contact for internal and external stakeholders regarding contract-related matters.
  • Provide guidance and training to staff on contract management best practices.
  • Generate reports on contract status, performance, and compliance for senior management.
  • Analyze contract data to identify trends, potential issues, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Provide recommendations for contract strategies based on analysis and industry best practices.
  • May require extended hours to meet deadlines or handle urgent contract matters.

Qualifications:
Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Legal Studies/Law or a related field. Master’s degree or JD is a plus.

Experience:

  • Five years of experience managing contracts in the government contracting industry, with a focus on complex government projects.
  • Experience in drafting, negotiating, and managing contracts.
  • Strong knowledge of the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR), Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (DFARS), and other U.S. Government contracting regulations.
  • Experience with a variety of government contract types, including FFP, T&M, IDIQ, BPA, Task Orders, and hybrid contracts.
  • Familiarity with GSA Schedule contracts.
  • Familiarity with SBA rules and regulations, including understanding of SBA Mentor-Protégé relationships.

Skills:

  • Strong understanding of contract law and legal terms.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, writing, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple contracts and projects simultaneously.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • High level of attention to detail in managing contract documents, ensuring accuracy and compliance with applicable regulations.
  • Demonstrated commitment to ethical contract management practices, including safeguarding proprietary and confidential information.
  • Proficiency in contract management software and Microsoft Office Suite.

Preferred Experience:

  • Experience with Lexion contract management software.
  • Certified Professional Contracts Manager (CPCM), Certified Commercial Contracts Manager (CCCM), or similar certifications are preferred.
