Position Description: 

We are looking for a Technical Release Manager to join our Engineering organization. In this critical role, you will report to the Manager, Technical Release Management, and collaborate closely with our 'Release Team' partners, who are collectively responsible for maintaining 100% service uptime. In this hands-on role, you will significantly contribute to evolving and scaling our release processes, enabling efficient and seamless delivery of value to our customers.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate the end-to-end release process 
  • Ensure on-time delivery of high-quality releases
  • Manage operational software, infrastructure and configuration deployments
  • Communicate plans, status, and issues with all stakeholders
  • Maintain awareness of high-risk changes and steps to mitigate them
  • Partner with other technical release managers to streamline processes by developing automation and adopting AI
  • Collaborate with peer technical release managers to analyze release KPI and derive actionable insights for improvement

Minimum Required Skills and Experience:

  • 1-2 years Technical Release management experience in a SaaS or Cloud Service
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Exceptional ability to multi-task and multiple threads in progress simultaneously 
  • Strong and disciplined verbal and written communication skills, particularly in urgent situations
  • Ability to integrate AI-powered assistants into daily workflows to improve efficiency in research, documentation, coding, and communication.
  • Experience working with agile release cycles and SDLC (preferred)
  • Experience in technical project and program management, especially building and supporting highly reliable, mission-critical software services (preferred)

Education and Training: B.S, M.S. in Management Information Systems or Computer Science preferred

Additional requirements:

  • This position requires the ability to access federal environments and/or have access to protected federal data.  As a condition of employment for this position, the successful candidate must be able to submit documentation establishing U.S. Person status (e.g. a U.S. Citizen, National, Lawful Permanent Resident, Refugee, or Asylee. 22 CFR 120.15) upon hire.

This role requires in-person onboarding and travel to our San Francisco, CA HQ office or our Chicago office during the first week of employment.

Below is the annual base salary range for candidates located in California (excluding San Francisco Bay Area), Colorado, Illinois, New York and Washington. Your actual base salary will depend on factors such as your skills, qualifications, experience, and work location. In addition, Okta offers equity (where applicable), bonus, and benefits, including health, dental and vision insurance, 401(k), flexible spending account, and paid leave (including PTO and parental leave) in accordance with our applicable plans and policies. The annual base salary range for this position for candidates located in California (excluding San Francisco Bay Area), Colorado, Illinois, New York, and Washington is between: $84,000—$126,000 USD
