Seeking a detail-oriented and proactive General Accountant. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of accounting principles and hands-on experience in managing the General Ledger, performing reconciliations, maintaining fixed assets, and handling accruals. This role requires accuracy, organizational skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• General Ledger Management:
o Oversee and maintain the General Ledger, ensuring accurate recording of financial transactions.
o Prepare journal entries, post to appropriate accounts, and ensure proper documentation and approvals.
• Reconciliations:
o Perform monthly, quarterly, and year-end reconciliations of balance sheet accounts.
o Identify and resolve discrepancies, working with other departments as necessary to ensure accuracy.
• Fixed Assets:
o Manage the fixed assets register, ensuring proper tracking, recording, and depreciation of assets.
o Assist in asset acquisitions, disposals, and periodic audits.
• Accruals:
o Prepare and post monthly accruals for expenses and revenue to ensure accurate financial reporting.
o Monitor and ensure that all accruals are recorded in accordance with accounting standards.
• Financial Reporting:
o Assist in the preparation of monthly and annual financial statements and reports.
o Support in preparing reports for management and other departments as requested.
• Compliance & Internal Controls:
o Ensure compliance with accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls.
o Assist with audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations for account balances.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 2+ years of experience in accounting, with a focus on General Ledger, reconciliations, fixed assets, and accruals.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles (GAAP).
• Proficiency in accounting software
• Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables and VLOOKUP.
